About CWW Tech Africa

CWW Tech Africa is an educational technology company focused on helping Africans develop practical digital and technology skills.

The organisation provides courses, products and services designed to equip African youths with skills that are relevant to today’s digital economy. This position supports that mission by helping the institute reach prospective students, communicate its programmes and maintain a consistent public presence.

For a marketing professional, the role combines digital marketing, content creation, student recruitment, communications and campaign analysis.

About the Marketing and Communications Role

The Marketing and Communications Officer will help promote CWW Tech Africa’s courses, bootcamps, workshops and other programmes.

The role covers both planning and execution. The successful candidate will create campaigns, manage digital channels, communicate with audiences and track campaign results to understand what is working.

The position also involves supporting events, public relations and institutional communications, making it suitable for someone with a broad understanding of modern marketing rather than a narrow focus on one platform.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing marketing campaigns for courses, bootcamps, workshops and other programmes.
  • Managing social media platforms and digital communication channels.
  • Creating content for social media, websites, email campaigns, newsletters and promotional materials.
  • Developing student recruitment and lead-generation campaigns.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and preparing marketing reports.
  • Maintaining consistent brand messaging and visual identity.
  • Coordinating promotional events, webinars and related activities.
  • Supporting public relations, media engagement and institutional communications.
  • Managing email marketing and audience communications.
  • Conducting market and competitor research to identify potential marketing opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas or a related discipline:

  • Marketing
  • Communications
  • Public Relations
  • Mass Communication
  • Business

The position requires at least two years of relevant marketing or communications experience.

Candidates should also have:

  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing and social media platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
  • Experience creating content.
  • Experience with email marketing and campaign management.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Meta Business Suite and Google Analytics.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms.
  • Creative thinking and an understanding of audience engagement.
  • Ability to analyse marketing data and turn findings into practical actions.

Digital Marketing and Content Skills

Digital communication is a significant part of the position.

Applicants should be comfortable working across social media and other online channels while adapting content to different audiences. Experience creating graphics, writing social posts, preparing email campaigns or managing website content can be relevant.

Familiarity with Canva, Meta Business Suite and Google Analytics is specifically mentioned in the vacancy.

If you have used these tools professionally, make that experience visible on your CV rather than simply listing “digital marketing” as a general skill.

Turning Campaign Data Into Decisions

The position is not only about producing content or publishing social media posts.

The successful candidate will also monitor campaign performance, prepare reports and use marketing data to identify what can be improved.

Applicants with experience tracking metrics such as engagement, leads, conversions, email performance or campaign reach should explain this experience where relevant.

Being able to move from campaign activity → performance data → practical action is an important part of the role.

Student Recruitment and Lead Generation

Because CWW Tech Africa provides education and technology-skills programmes, attracting prospective students is another important part of the position.

The Marketing and Communications Officer will develop campaigns designed to generate leads and support student recruitment.

Candidates who have previously worked on lead-generation campaigns, online promotions, recruitment campaigns or audience-growth initiatives can highlight relevant results and responsibilities in their CV.

Where you have measurable results, such as increased leads, engagement or campaign response, include accurate figures rather than making broad claims.

Content and Brand Communication

The role also requires consistent communication across different channels.

Content may be created for:

  • Social media.
  • Websites.
  • Email campaigns.
  • Newsletters.
  • Promotional materials.
  • Events and webinars.

The applicant should therefore be comfortable adapting the same core message for different audiences and formats while maintaining a consistent brand identity.

Strong writing and editing skills are particularly relevant because the position involves regular audience communication.

How to Prepare Your CV

Your CV should show both your marketing experience and the tools you can use.

Consider highlighting:

  • Your marketing, communications or related degree.
  • At least two years of relevant experience.
  • Social media management.
  • Digital marketing campaigns.
  • Content creation.
  • Email marketing.
  • Lead-generation campaigns.
  • Student or customer acquisition campaigns.
  • Canva experience.
  • Meta Business Suite experience.
  • Google Analytics experience.
  • Marketing reporting and data analysis.
  • Event or webinar promotion.
  • Public relations or media engagement.
  • Market and competitor research.

If possible, describe the outcomes of campaigns you have worked on. For example, explain how you contributed to generating leads, improving engagement or increasing audience reach, provided the figures are accurate.
