About the Position

Dangote Cement Plc is looking for an Instrumentation Technician to support the maintenance and reliable operation of process instruments and related equipment at its Obajana operation in Kogi State.

The role involves practical maintenance work, instrument calibration and responding to equipment problems when they arise. It would suit an electrical or instrumentation professional who is comfortable working in an industrial environment and understands the importance of accurate measurements, equipment reliability and plant safety.

Applicants are required to have an OND in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and at least two years of relevant work experience.

What the Technician Will Do

The successful candidate will support instrumentation activities within the assigned area of the plant. Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining checklists and carrying out maintenance on individual instruments and equipment.
• Calibrating field instruments used to measure parameters such as temperature, pressure and flow.
• Calibrating and maintaining equipment including weighing systems, feeders and metal detectors.
• Taking responsibility for assigned jobs and reporting abnormalities to the Sectional Head.
• Supporting the smooth operation of the department within the designated work area.
• Working with other sections to gain a clear understanding of the plant’s operating status.
• Following applicable ISO/IMS standards and statutory requirements.
• Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns in coordination with the Shift Engineer to help reduce downtime.
