Job Overview
FairMoney is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive the strategy and roadmap for its lending division in Lagos. The role will focus on developing and executing a product vision aligned with business objectives and customer needs, while shaping the lending platform that powers the company’s lending products.
The successful candidate will work closely with technical and cross-functional teams to improve platform scalability, identify market opportunities, use customer and market insights to guide product decisions, and oversee product development from concept through launch. The role requires knowledge of lending practices, fintech trends, and the opportunities and challenges of the African market.
This position involves close collaboration with Engineering, Growth, Design, Data Science, Risk and Operations teams, as well as responsibility for prioritising work against agreed goals and delivering products within agreed timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Vision
- Develop a clear product strategy for the lending division that supports FairMoney’s business objectives and mission.
- Identify and prioritise market opportunities so that lending products remain competitive and relevant in the evolving fintech landscape.
- Work with the technical team to shape the scalability of the lending platform and the wider business.
Product Roadmap Management
- Collaborate with Engineering, Growth, Design, Data Science, Risk and Operations to create a comprehensive and achievable product roadmap.
- Review and refine the roadmap in response to market dynamics, customer feedback and business priorities.
- Prioritise work based on identified and agreed goals.
Customer Insights and Analysis
- Conduct market research and customer analysis to understand behaviour, pain points and preferences related to lending products.
- Use data-driven insights to inform product decisions, improve user experiences and drive customer satisfaction.
Product Development and Launch
- Oversee the end-to-end product development process from concept to launch.
- Ensure lending products meet high standards of quality and compliance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver products within agreed timelines and budgets.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of lending products and services, including consumer and small business lending, credit scoring models and risk assessment.
- Demonstrated experience developing and launching fintech products.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing and motivating high-performing product teams.
- A creative problem-solving mindset with a data-driven and KPI-oriented approach.
An entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to hands-on work.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- A master’s degree is an advantage.
- Familiarity with the Nigerian and wider African fintech markets is beneficial.
- Understanding of local customer preferences and behaviours is an advantage but not essential.
- Experience working on platform products is a plus.
