What the Role Involves

In this position, you will play a key role in driving customer acquisition and supporting loan distribution activities. The job focuses heavily on SME engagement, retail banking products, and credit-related services.

Your daily responsibilities will involve working with individuals and businesses to assess financial needs, guide them through loan processes, and maintain long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be expected to:

  • Promote and sell consumer and business banking products.
  • Identify and onboard SME loan customers, particularly within FMCG and related sectors.
  • Support IPPIS lending by identifying eligible salary earners and processing loan applications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with SMEs, traders, distributors, retailers, and salary earners.
  • Conduct initial customer assessments and collect required loan documentation.
  • Provide accurate customer information to support credit appraisal processes.
  • Follow up on loan repayments and assist with recovery processes when necessary.
  • Mobilize deposits and contribute to customer base growth.
  • Achieve assigned targets for sales, loan disbursement, and repayments.
  • Prepare regular reports on marketing activities, loan pipelines, and customer engagement.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities within existing customer accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with lending policies, KYC requirements, and internal procedures.

Requirements and Experience

Applicants are expected to have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in business development, credit marketing, SME lending, microfinance, cooperative lending, or consumer banking.
  • Prior experience in IPPIS lending is required.
  • Strong background in SME or FMCG lending is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to generate and manage loan clients effectively.
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a performance-driven environment with clear targets.
