Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) is recruiting a Microsoft Excel and Power BI Tutor to strengthen the data analysis and reporting skills of its workforce. Position Overview
The Microsoft Excel and Power BI Tutor will assess staff training needs, develop practical learning materials, and deliver interactive workshops that improve proficiency in data management, reporting, dashboard development, and business intelligence.
The role also involves providing post-training support to ensure participants can confidently apply their new skills in day-to-day organizational reporting.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Assess the existing Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills of WEWE staff.
- Develop a structured training curriculum and learning materials.
- Deliver practical training sessions covering beginner to advanced Excel features.
- Train staff on Power BI data modeling, visualization, dashboards, and report development.
- Design practical exercises, assignments, and real-world case studies.
- Support staff in applying Excel and Power BI to organizational reporting and data analysis.
- Monitor participant progress through assessments and practical evaluations.
- Prepare training reports and recommendations for future capacity-building initiatives.
- Provide post-training mentoring and technical support where required.
- Work closely with management to ensure training aligns with organizational goals.
- Maintain professionalism and comply with WEWE’s policies and safeguarding standards.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Data Analytics, or Business Intelligence will be an advantage.
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification or an equivalent credential is highly desirable.
- Additional certifications in adult learning or training facilitation are beneficial.
Experience and Technical Skills
Candidates should demonstrate:
- 3–5 years of experience delivering Microsoft Excel and Power BI training.
- Experience training professionals in NGOs, government institutions, development organizations, or the private sector.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, dashboards, reporting, automation, and data analysis.
- Strong Power BI expertise covering data transformation, modeling, visualization, dashboard creation, and business intelligence reporting.
- Experience developing training manuals, exercises, and assessment materials.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to simplify technical concepts for learners with different skill levels.
- High digital literacy and confidence using modern productivity tools.
