About the Position

Dangote Cement Plc is hiring a CNG Truck Driver (Inbound Logistics) to support the movement of raw materials at its Ibese Plant in Ogun State.

This is a hands-on driving role for an experienced heavy-truck driver who understands the importance of vehicle inspections, safe driving, fuel efficiency and plant safety procedures. The successful candidate will operate CNG-powered heavy-duty trucks while helping ensure that materials reach their designated locations safely and on schedule.

The position is particularly suited to drivers with experience operating articulated trucks in cement, mining, manufacturing or other heavy industrial environments.

Main Responsibilities

The driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned CNG trucks. Key duties include:

• Transport raw materials safely to designated areas within the required schedule.
• Carry out pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, engine and CNG fuel system.
• Monitor gas pressure and report mechanical problems or other faults promptly.
• Follow Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) regulations, applicable speed limits and Dangote’s plant safety procedures.
• Apply defensive driving practices and fuel-efficient driving techniques.
• Use smooth acceleration, engine braking and appropriate driving habits to reduce unnecessary fuel consumption and idling.
• Safely connect, monitor and disconnect high-pressure CNG fuelling lines as required.
• Check fuel cylinders, valves and pressure gauges before and after trips.
• Meet scheduled turnaround times while maintaining safe operating practices.
• Ensure loads remain within applicable legal axle-weight limits.
• Report safety, vehicle or operational concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

• A minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.
• A valid Nigerian Class G Heavy Truck Driver’s License.
• A clean driving record without a history of major vehicular accidents.
• Good spatial awareness and careful driving judgment.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting ability.
• Good communication skills.
• 1–3 years of experience driving heavy-duty articulated trucks, preferably in Nigeria’s cement, mining or heavy manufacturing sector.
