Job Overview
The Automation Engineer is responsible for the reliability and sustainability of electrical and automation systems used across bottling and utilities equipment. The role focuses on timely troubleshooting and repairs, maintaining automation standards, supporting project implementation, and ensuring the availability and reliability of automation equipment.
This is an on-site position within the Supply Chain function for an experienced professional with a minimum of five years’ experience in automation.

Responsibilities
- Perform timely, high-quality repairs on bottling and utilities equipment affected by electrical or automation issues.
- Ensure compliance with plant automation operating procedures and standards.
- Support project implementation by ensuring that automation requirements are followed for new and existing projects.
- Use condition-monitoring tools to assess automation equipment and develop corrective action plans for identified issues.
- Maintain the availability of essential automation parts and establish appropriate reorder levels.
- Oversee maintenance contracts for inspection and coding machines, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement solutions for equipment- and process-related non-conformances.
- Ensure that user-program backups for all automation equipment are regularly updated and available.
- Maintain current electrical documentation for all plant equipment.
- Perform routine audits on electrical controls to support operational efficiency.
- Assess skills gaps among electrical and automation technicians and coordinate training aligned with industry trends.
- Submit timely reports on the electrical and automation status of plant equipment.
- Contribute to business planning for productivity improvement and cost efficiency.
- Contribute to the preparation and control of the maintenance budget, ensuring adequate funding for routines and initiatives aligned with strategic and operational plans.
Requirements and Qualifications
- B.Sc. or HND in Electrical, Electronics or Automation Engineering.
- Knowledge of SAP, Siemens and PLCs, Danfoss, Omron, sensors and PLC programming.
- Knowledge of bottling technology and FMCG operations.
- Experience executing projects such as line commissioning and annual maintenance planning.
- Operational planning expertise and an understanding of the financial impact of decisions.
- Ability to focus on functional sustainability rather than short-term results.
- Ability to implement, disseminate and enforce safety, health and environment policy.
- Open-minded, intellectually curious and flexible approach.
- Strong communication and people-management skills.
