Job Overview
Deloitte is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its Finance Team in Nigeria. The role is responsible for managing withholding tax activities, supporting statutory tax compliance, maintaining accurate tax records and client accounts, and assisting with tax-related reporting and reviews.
The successful candidate will also liaise with clients, business managers, partners and tax authorities, while providing administrative and compliance support to the Tax Compliance Manager. The position includes work across PAYE, VAT, vendor withholding tax obligations, tax reconciliations and month-end reporting.

Responsibilities
- Manage client withholding tax collection, administration and reporting.
- Manage monthly PAYE, VAT and other statutory tax computations and remittances.
- Apply cash collections, withholding tax receipts and credit notes to receivable balances.
- Engage with business managers and partners on withholding tax debtor collection.
- Administer staff tax matters, including Tax Clearance Certificate applications and renewals.
- Prepare tax reconciliations and support balance sheet account reviews and month-end reporting.
- Support responses to tax authority enquiries, audits, investigations and regulatory reviews.
- Support process improvement initiatives and tax compliance projects within the Finance function.
- Perform other tax and compliance-related duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting or a related discipline, with a minimum of Second Class Lower or Lower Credit.
- Full professional qualification or membership of ICAN, ACCA or CITN.
- At least five credits in WASSCE Ordinary Level, NECO or an acceptable equivalent examination, including Mathematics and English Language in one sitting.
- Good knowledge of Nigerian tax laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
