The Lead, Pharmaceuticals & Therapeutics will oversee the strategic management of pharmaceutical services across healthcare facilities. The role is responsible for supporting the safe, effective and efficient use of medications, optimizing drug therapy outcomes, managing formulary development and promoting evidence-based pharmaceutical practices.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement pharmaceutical policies, formularies and clinical guidelines to support safe, effective and cost-efficient medication use.
- Oversee medication management processes, including procurement, storage, distribution and usage, in line with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Lead initiatives that promote rational drug use, minimize medication errors and improve patient outcomes through evidence-based pharmaceutical care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, pharmacy teams and administrative staff to integrate pharmaceutical services with clinical pathways and patient care plans.
- Monitor pharmaceutical trends, drug utilization patterns and therapeutic outcomes, using data to drive continuous improvement in pharmacy services.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm).
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, drug therapy management and healthcare quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, analytical and communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive innovation and collaboration in pharmaceutical services.
- Applicants must be residents of Imo State or open to relocation.
The role requires 6–10 years of experience in pharmacy practice, clinical pharmacy or pharmaceutical management, including at least 3 years in a leadership or strategic role.
A Master’s degree such as an MSc, PharmD or MBA in Healthcare Management is highly desirable. Professional certification in clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical management or a related specialty, including BCPS or CPP, is an advantage.
