The Programme Delivery Intern will support The Eco-Anxiety Africa Project (TEAP), SustyVibes’ flagship initiative focused on understanding the psychological effects of climate change across Africa and developing accessible, community-led approaches to building resilience.

Based in Lagos with a hybrid working arrangement, the intern will work alongside the Head of TEAP and the wider programme team. The role involves a mix of programme coordination, research support, monitoring and evaluation, participant engagement, documentation, and administrative tasks.

The internship runs for six months and may be renewed depending on performance and the organisation’s needs. The position requires approximately 20 hours of work each week, with a flexible schedule.

Understanding The Eco-Anxiety Africa Project

The Eco-Anxiety Africa Project, known as TEAP, brings together climate and mental health work with a focus on the experiences of people across Africa.

The initiative uses research, capacity building, community engagement, and advocacy to improve understanding of the psychological effects associated with climate change. Its work also aims to support young Africans and communities in developing resilience as they respond to the challenges created by the climate crisis.

For an intern, this provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in programme implementation while contributing to work that connects environmental issues with mental health and community wellbeing.

What the Intern Will Work On

Programme Planning and Coordination

The successful intern will assist with the practical delivery of TEAP programmes, workshops, and events. Responsibilities will include supporting programme planning, helping with participant registration and follow-up, and keeping track of activities, deliverables, and deadlines.

The role will also involve supporting internal meetings by preparing notes, documenting action points, and helping the team maintain clear programme records.

Research, Monitoring, and Learning

Research is an important part of the position. The intern will support activities such as data collection and data management while assisting with monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes.

They will also contribute to documenting lessons from programme activities and helping develop recommendations that can inform future improvements.

Community Engagement and Programme Communication

The intern will help maintain communication with programme participants, facilitators, and partners before, during, and after programme activities.

Depending on project needs, the role may also involve assisting with the preparation of educational resources, toolkits, and other programme materials. The intern will contribute to documenting programme activities through case studies, stories of change, and summaries of impact.

Programme Administration

Good administration will be an important part of the internship. The intern will help maintain organised and up-to-date programme records, assist with meeting schedules, and support internal coordination.

They may also contribute to reporting requirements for funders and organisational learning, ensuring that programme documentation is accurate and complete.
