Video Editing Trainer at WEP International
Location: Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Arrangement: In-person
Job Field: Education / Teaching / Training
Duration: 12 Weeks
Application Deadline: July 31, 2026
Women Environmental Programme (WEP) is seeking a qualified Video Editing Trainer to support a 12-week digital skills development programme in Abuja. The trainer will help participants build practical video editing skills using tools such as CapCut, Filmora, or similar software.
The assignment is part of the WomenPower2030: Feminist Accelerate Action for Sustainable Development project, which is focused on helping young girls, women, and persons with disabilities in the Federal Capital Territory develop useful digital competencies.
For applicants with experience teaching digital skills, coaching beginners, or facilitating practical technology-based learning, this role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to an inclusive skills development programme.
About Women Environmental Programme
The Women Environmental Programme (WEP) is a Nigerian non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, non-religious, and voluntary organization established in April 1997 by a group of women in Kaduna State.
The organization works toward a future in which women and young people can experience positive and meaningful improvements in their lives. Its programmes include initiatives that support inclusion, empowerment, sustainable development, and community participation.
About the Training Programme
The selected trainer will facilitate practical, beginner-friendly learning sessions as part of a three-month Digital Skills Development Programme.
The programme is designed to help participants develop digital abilities that can be useful in areas such as:
- Employment and career development
- Entrepreneurship and income-generating activities
- Digital communication
- Advocacy and social impact work
The Video Editing Trainer will be expected to make the learning experience accessible to participants with different levels of technical knowledge. Practical demonstrations, guided exercises, and mentorship will be important parts of the training.
Key Responsibilities
The successful trainer will be responsible for delivering effective training and supporting participants throughout the programme.
Key duties include:
- Conduct engaging, inclusive, and beginner-friendly video editing training sessions.
- Teach participants how to use CapCut, Filmora, or other relevant video editing tools.
- Prepare simple lesson plans and practical learning activities.
- Develop appropriate tools for assessing and evaluating participant progress.
- Guide learners through practical exercises and hands-on assignments.
- Provide mentorship and support to participants as they develop their digital skills.
- Monitor participant progress throughout the training period.
- Document and report on learning outcomes and other relevant training results.
- Work closely with the WEP team to maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
- Adapt training approaches where necessary to meet the needs of participants with different learning abilities and backgrounds.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Applicants should have a degree, diploma, or recognized professional certification in ICT, Computer Science, or a related field.
The ideal candidate should also have:
- Demonstrated experience delivering digital skills training or coaching learners.
- Strong practical knowledge of video editing tools, particularly CapCut, Filmora, or comparable software.
- The ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and understandable way.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Good interpersonal and mentoring abilities.
- Experience working with women, young people, or persons with disabilities is an added advantage.
- The ability to create an inclusive and empowering learning environment.
- Availability to work physically in Abuja throughout the programme.
Applicants should ensure that their CV clearly shows relevant training, facilitation, coaching, or video editing experience. If you have previously trained beginners or supported learners with practical digital skills, make sure this experience is easy for the selection team to identify.
Before preparing your application, make sure your CV clearly highlights your video editing skills, training experience, digital tools you can teach, and any relevant work with learners or community programmes. Who Should Consider Applying?
This opportunity may be particularly suitable for experienced video editors, digital skills trainers, ICT instructors, and technology professionals who enjoy helping others learn practical skills.
Because the programme is designed for participants who may have different levels of digital experience, the ability to communicate patiently and explain concepts clearly is likely to be just as important as technical knowledge of video editing software.
The position is in-person in Abuja, so applicants must be based in Abuja and able to attend the programme physically for its full duration.
Application Requirements
Interested trainers should prepare the following documents:
- An updated CV
- A cover letter
Both documents should be combined into one PDF file before submission.
When preparing your application, highlight your experience with video editing, digital skills training, coaching, or classroom facilitation. You can also mention the specific tools you are comfortable teaching and any previous experience working with women, youth, or persons with disabilities.
How to Apply
Interested trainers should send their CV and cover letter as a single PDF document, with the email subject line Application for ICT Trainer – [Course Name] to:comms@wepnigeria.net.
