Job Overview

The Enterprise Key Account Manager will lead the acquisition and retention of corporate customers across the assigned region, with responsibility for increasing revenue from Airtel’s corporate products and services. The role combines account development, customer relationship management, corporate sales, revenue assurance and market analysis.

The position covers the South-South Region, South-East Region, West Region, North-East Region, North-West Region and Lagos Region. The successful candidate will manage relationships with prospective and existing corporate accounts, identify opportunities for product adoption and support the prompt resolution of customer concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Implement acquisition and retention strategies for prospective and existing corporate accounts in the assigned sector.
  • Visit a minimum of five corporate organizations per day, 25 per week and 100 per month, amounting to 600 visits over six months.
  • Develop opportunities to establish Airtel’s presence in corporate organizations within the assigned sector.
  • Arrange presentations of Airtel corporate products and create opportunities for event sponsorship relationships with corporate accounts to support product sales and revenue growth.
  • Develop opportunities to sell special products, including E1 PRI, Data Centre Services and Smart Advertising.
  • Grow usage of corporate products through upselling and cross-selling within the allocated sector.
  • Develop account plans and relationship management processes in line with signed service level agreements.
  • Drive the sale and activation of corporate products across the sector.
  • Maintain and manage a database of corporate customers in the assigned sector.
  • Update the top 20 accounts KPI dashboard weekly to support access to Airtel’s RMS.
  • Monitor competitors’ activities and relevant market developments, and recommend countermeasures to win competitive opportunities.
  • Report competitors’ CUG packages and customers’ special promotional activities.
  • Manage customers’ day-to-day concerns and enquiries, while developing relationship management processes for existing and prospective accounts.
  • Liaise with support teams to ensure prompt and adequate resolution of customer complaints.
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports on customer activities, bill delivery and collections in the assigned sector.
  • Report initiatives, potential prospects, queries, challenges, call plans and new sales made in the sector every Friday by 4:30 p.m.
  • Follow up with Service Executives and Finance to ensure bills are delivered and payments are received promptly.
  • Encourage existing customers to pay bills on time to avoid barring, reduce the debt portfolio and limit churn.
  • Escalate price review and service quality issues to help avoid customer churn.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A university degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related course.
  • Eight to ten years of experience at manager level.
  • Eight to ten years of experience managing key accounts.
  • Adequate product knowledge to sell value to customers.
  • Presentation and relationship management skills.
  • Analytical thinking and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and good presentation skills.
  • A team player who is also independent, confident and objective.
  • Ability to achieve results, delight customers and work towards common organizational goals and values.
  • Readiness to achieve beyond set targets.
