Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in the corporate, public sector, and wider ecosystem.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major clients, ensuring service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Establish strategic alliances with industry leaders, regulators, and government bodies.
  • Develop and execute client engagement frameworks that support long-term partnerships.
  • Manage stakeholders proactively, addressing challenges and maximising opportunities.
  • Ensure business development activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal governance frameworks.
  • Implement risk-mitigation measures and work with legal and compliance teams to align contracts and agreements with regulatory guidelines.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing business development team.
  • Establish performance goals, KPIs, and accountability frameworks for team members.

Requirements and Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline is required. The role requires 10–15 years of experience in sales, business development, channel management, or commercial operations, with at least three years leading business development teams and driving strategic growth initiatives at senior management level.

  • Strong knowledge of digital financial services, payments, merchant ecosystems, strategic partnerships, revenue growth strategies, and emerging fintech trends.
  • A proven track record of developing and executing growth strategies, originating new business opportunities, securing strategic partnerships, and delivering sustainable revenue growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience in business case development, contract negotiation, stakeholder management, and managing complex partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify new market opportunities, expand market presence, and drive customer acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
