About the Youth Leaders for Nutrition Project

The Youth Leaders for Nutrition (YL4N) Project aims to increase youth participation in nutrition advocacy by equipping young people with the knowledge, leadership skills, and practical experience needed to influence positive change within their communities.

Participants will receive opportunities to contribute to advocacy campaigns, community outreach activities, stakeholder engagement, and policy discussions related to nutrition and food systems.

Available Positions by State

The project is recruiting 20 Youth Advocates in each of the following locations:

  • Lagos State
  • Kano State
  • Ebonyi State
  • Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

What You Will Be Doing

Selected Youth Advocates will support several community and advocacy activities, including:

  • Promoting nutrition awareness within local communities.
  • Participating in nutrition dialogue sessions and public engagement programmes.
  • Mobilising young people to support healthier food systems and nutrition initiatives.
  • Assisting with documentation, reporting, and evidence collection for advocacy activities.
  • Taking part in leadership training, mentoring, and capacity-building programmes.
  • Working with government agencies, civil society organisations, and community stakeholders.
  • Supporting youth-led campaigns that encourage improved nutrition outcomes.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should:

  • Be between 18 and 30 years of age.
  • Live in Lagos, Kano, Ebonyi State, or the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) throughout the project period.
  • Demonstrate an interest in nutrition, public health, youth development, food systems, or related fields.

  • Be willing to volunteer their time and actively participate in project activities.
