The State Business Manager will plan, monitor and ensure achievement of customer and revenue market share objectives for zonal operations. The role supervises and influences multiple teams to deliver operational excellence across network operations, customer service, channel management and market expansion.
The position covers prepaid and postpaid customer growth, zonal revenue performance, channel satisfaction, distribution expansion, network coverage and quality, showroom experience, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities
Prepaid Customer Growth
- Identify and formulate zonal sales strategies to drive gross additions.
- Monitor churn and grace periods.
- Supervise acquisition health and compliance on activations.
- Oversee activation of connections within the stipulated turnaround times.
Postpaid Customer Growth
- Identify and formulate zonal sales strategies to drive gross additions.
- Monitor churn and grace periods.
- Supervise acquisition health and compliance on activations.
- Oversee activation of connections within the stipulated turnaround times.
Zone Revenue Performance
- Identify and formulate customer service development strategies to improve collections and bad-debt performance across the zone.
- Propose and drive value-added service upselling activities.
- Drive the reduction of recharge turnovers, first-bill churn and zero recharge.
Channel Satisfaction
- Audit and review channel partners and distributors to support healthy return on investment.
- Monitor timely disbursement of claims to the market and regular trade service.
- Conceptualize, design and implement channel delight activities.
Distribution Expansion
- Identify and formulate zonal sales strategies to expand distribution across showrooms and Dealer Service Agents.
- Ensure expansion aligns with the dimensioned number of active Easy Charge outlets.
- Establish SIM-selling outlets and other categories of retail outlets as a percentage of Easy Charge outlets.
Network Coverage and Quality
- Support network optimization.
- Oversee return on investment and deployment for new sites.
- Follow through on cell availability, call quality and the reduction of site outages within the zone.
Showroom Experience
- Identify and formulate customer service delivery strategies to improve customer satisfaction scores.
- Ensure standard infrastructure is provided at zonal showrooms.
- Ensure showroom employees are upskilled through industry training and certifications relevant to their roles.
Employee Engagement
- Achieve employee engagement scores in line with the engagement target for the business area.
- Continuously motivate frontline employees through leadership by example.
- Implement action plans addressing hygiene issues and related concerns.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Management or a related Social Sciences discipline.
- Excellent understanding and implementation of Route-to-Market and Go-to-Market strategies.
- Extensive sales and business development experience with proven expertise in revenue generation and growth.
- Excellent product knowledge.
- Excellent relationship management, numerical acumen and analytical thinking skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Excellent and proven leadership skills.
