Role Summary

The Education Specialist will lead the development, implementation, and quality monitoring of education interventions aimed at improving children’s learning outcomes and school retention.

The position will focus on strengthening teacher capacity through training, coaching, mentoring, and continuous performance support. The successful candidate will help implement inclusive accelerated learning approaches, support teachers in addressing learning gaps, and promote safe learning environments that follow child safeguarding standards.

Working alongside Learning Advisors and education stakeholders, the Education Specialist will ensure programmes are effectively delivered and adapted based on evidence and learner needs.

Key Responsibilities

Education Programme Design and Quality Assurance

The Education Specialist will:

  • Design and oversee accelerated learning and targeted instruction programmes for children, including foundational literacy and numeracy support.
  • Develop and improve teacher training materials, lesson plans, and instructional resources.
  • Adapt learning approaches in collaboration with education authorities, including the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB).
  • Ensure teaching materials align with curriculum standards and inclusive education principles.
  • Monitor programme quality and identify opportunities for improvement.

Teacher Training, Coaching and Support

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing teacher training programmes and providing ongoing professional development.
  • Delivering coaching and mentoring support to improve classroom practice.
