Job Overview

Kuda is seeking a Backend Engineer to troubleshoot and improve existing backend applications and processes. The role involves analysing code, creating more efficient processes, solving technical problems, and helping deliver a seamless experience for users.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on coding and debugging.
  • Build high-quality, reusable code for future use.
  • Develop functional and sustainable web applications with clean code.
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications.
  • Conduct tests and optimise application performance.
  • Work with engineers building client-facing applications to integrate user-interface elements with server-side logic.
  • Implement modern technologies to improve legacy applications.
  • Collect, analyse and address technical and design requirements.
  • Help create reusable code and libraries.
  • Train and support internal teams.
  • Interact with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new features.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
  • Strong experience with C#, .NET and .NET Core.
  • Understanding of software engineering practices, including agile development, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, debugging and troubleshooting.
  • In-depth understanding of source code management.
  • Understanding of cloud technologies, including Azure and AWS.
  • Good understanding of databases and SQL.
  • In-depth understanding of REST APIs, SOAP and RPC.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience in technical writing and API documentation.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Trello and Jira.
