Role Overview
The Head of Collections & Recovery will lead the organisation’s collections and recovery function, ensuring effective management of delinquent accounts while reducing portfolio-at-risk (PAR) and non-performing loans (NPLs).
Working closely with the Heads of Sales and Credit Risk, the successful candidate will help manage the full credit lifecycle—from loan origination and underwriting to monitoring, collections, and recovery—using data-driven strategies to improve overall portfolio quality.
Key Responsibilities
Collections Strategy and Recovery Management
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and continuously improve the company’s collections and recovery strategy.
- Oversee recovery activities across early, mid-stage, and late-stage delinquency portfolios.
- Design and optimise collection workflows, escalation procedures, and communication strategies.
- Establish collection targets, recovery goals, and cost-efficiency metrics.
- Lead negotiations, restructurings, and settlement initiatives for high-risk accounts.
- Manage procurement and implementation of collections and recovery technology solutions.
- Introduce AI-powered automation, predictive analytics, and digital communication tools to improve operational efficiency.
Portfolio Management and Credit Risk Oversight
Responsibilities include:
- Monitor portfolio health using key performance indicators such as:
- Portfolio at Risk (PAR)
- Vintage analysis
- Roll rates
- Cohort performance
- Identify emerging portfolio risks and recommend early intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with the Credit Risk team to improve underwriting policies using collections performance data.
- Prepare portfolio quality reports and recovery forecasts for executive leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
The role involves close collaboration with multiple business units by:
- Working with Sales teams to improve customer acquisition quality.
- Partnering with Credit Risk on lending policy reviews and approval strategies.

Leadership and Team Management
