Job Overview
The Hospital Administrator will lead the operationalization and day-to-day management of the Aliko Dangote Foundation Surgical & Diagnostic Centre (SDC) at Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital Kano. The role is responsible for coordinating the administrative and operational systems that support efficient healthcare delivery across the centre.
This position covers clinical support services, patient flow, admissions, discharges, diagnostic services, and theatre operations. It also includes oversight of facilities, medical equipment, maintenance programmes, asset management systems, hospital information systems, and digital platforms. The administrator will help ensure that the centre’s facilities and resources are used effectively while maintaining operational standards and accountability for ADF-funded assets and operations.
The role combines operational leadership with governance, workforce coordination, financial oversight, quality management, and stakeholder engagement. The Hospital Administrator will serve as a key liaison between MMSH management, the Aliko Dangote Foundation, government stakeholders, and service providers, supporting sustainable and high-quality healthcare services at the centre.

About the Organization
Aliko Dangote Foundation has been actively supporting the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital Kano. The foundation is delivering three new medical buildings covering six departments, including a new Accident & Emergency building, a new Surgical & Diagnostics Center, and a new Maternity Complex.
The Surgical & Diagnostics Center features Radiology, Laboratory, CSSD, and Surgery. The Hospital Administrator will manage the administrative and operational requirements of this centre within the wider MMSH Kano setting, working across the relationships and systems required for its effective operation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the operationalization and day-to-day management of the Surgical & Diagnostic Centre.
- Coordinate clinical support services, patient flow, admissions, discharges, diagnostics, and theatre operations.
- Oversee facilities, medical equipment, maintenance programmes, and asset management systems.
- Ensure effective implementation and utilization of hospital information systems and digital platforms.
- Drive service excellence, patient satisfaction, institutional culture, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintain strong governance, compliance, risk management, and resource accountability frameworks.
- Coordinate workforce planning, staff performance monitoring, training, and stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor quality, safety, infection prevention, and patient experience standards across the facility.
- Manage approved budgets, procurement plans, inventory controls, and financial reporting requirements.
- Provide regular operational and performance reports to MMSH management and Aliko Dangote Foundation leadership.
The role requires attention to the full operating cycle of the centre, from patient movement and clinical support coordination to facilities, equipment, information systems, staffing, procurement, and reporting. These responsibilities connect daily service delivery with compliance, resource stewardship, quality, and performance monitoring.
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Hospital Administration, Health Management, Public Health, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline. A relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a senior administrative or operational role within a large healthcare institution. Relevant experience includes managing hospital operations, diagnostic services, healthcare facilities, medical equipment, budgeting, and healthcare systems.
