About the Regional Sales Role

Jumia operates an e-commerce marketplace supported by logistics and digital-payment services. Within this structure, the offline sales network helps the business acquire customers and generate orders through field-based agents and local commercial activities.

The Sales Network Manager will take responsibility for expanding and improving this network within the assigned region. The position involves setting targets, monitoring results, recruiting agents and ensuring that City Captains and J-Force teams have the direction and support required to perform effectively.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Plan and execute field activations with J-Force agents.
  • Define activation targets and coordinate the required field logistics.
  • Review results after each activation and identify practical improvements.
  • Deliver regional order and sales targets in line with Jumia’s commercial category strategy.
  • Recruit and onboard new J-Force agents through regular recruitment activities.
  • Establish performance routines that help agents remain active and productive.
  • Lead City Captains operating across important cities in the North Central region.
  • Assign clear goals and hold field leaders accountable for agreed results.
  • Ensure agents have an appropriate mix of products and prices for their customers.
  • Identify capability gaps and address them through coaching or targeted support.
  • Develop new business opportunities capable of supporting regional growth.
  • Build reports, dashboards and processes for tracking key performance indicators.
  • Convert field insights and performance data into clear recommendations for incremental growth.

Experience and Skills

Applicants should have:

  • Four to six years of experience in sales or offline retail.
  • A demonstrated record of achieving sales or commercial targets.
  • Experience managing field-sales teams or agent networks.
  • Previous involvement in agent recruitment and performance management.
  • Practical experience planning and executing marketing activations or trade-marketing campaigns.
  • Strong network-development and relationship-building skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • The ability to interpret performance data and use it to support decisions.
  • A creative, resilient and self-directed approach to work.
  • The ability to execute assignments quickly in a fast-moving environment.

Experience obtained in FMCG or telecommunications is preferred, but the official vacancy does not present it as an absolute requirement.

An existing professional or commercial network within the North Central region is also an added advantage rather than a mandatory qualification.

Location Requirement

Applicants must be based in Abuja. This is a specific requirement stated by Jumia and should not be treated as a general preference.

The role nevertheless covers the wider North Central region, meaning candidates should consider whether they are prepared for the field coordination and regional responsibilities associated with the position.

Who May Be Well Suited to This Position

This vacancy may suit a sales professional who has managed geographically distributed teams, field representatives or commercial agents.

A strong candidate should be able to demonstrate how their previous work contributed to customer acquisition, order growth, agent productivity or improved regional coverage. Experience using targets, dashboards or performance routines to manage a field network will be especially relevant.

What to Highlight in Your Application

Candidates should make the following information easy to identify in their CV:

  • Sales or offline-retail positions held during the past four to six years.
  • Evidence of meeting or exceeding measurable sales targets.
  • The number or size of field teams and agent networks previously managed.
  • Experience recruiting, onboarding or coaching sales agents.
