Job Overview

The Inventory Team Lead supervises a team of inventory operators at Jumia and supports accurate, efficient stock management within the warehouse. The role covers inventory activities from receiving and storage through cycle counts, reconciliations, stock tracking and performance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead inventory operators, providing guidance, support and coaching.
• Oversee the receiving, storing, counting and tracking of inventory levels.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory processes.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Train and mentor inventory operators on procedures, equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventories and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor inventory levels and stock movements, update records and generate key performance indicator reports.
• Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers on inbound shipments and receiving discrepancies.
• Help maintain a clean, organized and safe warehouse environment.
• Prepare and present regular inventory performance reports to senior management.

• Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems, warehouse management systems and related tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• NYSC certificate or a valid exemption letter.
• Based in Abuja.
