Key Account Manager (B2B) – Corporate Sales at The People Practice
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Job Field: Sales and Business Development
Qualification: BA/BSc/HND
Experience: 4–5 years
The People Practice is recruiting a Key Account Manager (B2B) for a client operating in the retail and corporate gifting industry. This is a business development role focused on winning new corporate accounts, managing complex sales conversations and growing revenue across both physical gifting products and a corporate gifting software platform.
The position is particularly suited to an experienced B2B salesperson who is comfortable generating leads independently rather than relying on inbound enquiries. The successful candidate will target organisations such as banks, telecommunications companies, FMCGs and multinational businesses across Lagos.
What the position involves
A major part of the role will be building a sales pipeline from the ground up and turning corporate prospects into long-term accounts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing a strong B2B sales pipeline through cold calling, networking, LinkedIn outreach and direct visits to prospective clients across Lagos.
- Identifying and engaging decision-makers in HR, Administration, Procurement and senior management.
- Presenting solutions, handling objections and independently managing complex corporate sales cycles through to closure.
- Meeting and exceeding quarterly revenue targets for both software subscriptions and corporate gifting contracts.
- Selling corporate gifting packages for occasions such as employee milestones, onboarding, retirement, year-end gifting and client appreciation.
- Demonstrating the company’s corporate gifting software and explaining how it can help organisations manage gifting budgets and logistics.
- Managing leads, sales activities and conversion information through the company’s CRM system.
- Maintaining relationships with major accounts after the sale while identifying opportunities for future upselling.
- Building executive-level relationships and positioning the business as a long-term corporate partner.
- Managing and mentoring a team of sales executives and helping them achieve collective targets.
- Executing the corporate sales strategy with a focus on large-scale opportunities.
- Providing management with market feedback on competitor pricing, customer demand and potential software features.
What the employer is looking for
Applicants should have:
- A minimum of 4 years of proven B2B sales experience, preferably in a quota-carrying role.
- A track record of independently generating leads and closing high-value corporate deals.
- Experience dealing with senior executives and corporate decision-makers.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Previous experience selling SaaS or software products.
- Confidence conducting live product demonstrations and explaining technology to business customers.
- Strong negotiation and objection-handling abilities.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Odoo, Salesforce or similar systems.
- Good knowledge of presentation and other modern business productivity tools.
- The ability to work independently while also leading and developing a sales team.
An established network among HR and Procurement professionals in Lagos’s corporate sector would be an advantage, particularly for a role that depends heavily on proactive business development.
What makes this role different?
This is not a conventional account-management position where most opportunities arrive through an existing customer base. The role places considerable emphasis on new-business development.
The successful candidate will need to identify prospects, reach decision-makers, build relationships, present both physical and software-based solutions, negotiate commercial terms and close deals.
That combination makes the role relevant to sales professionals who have experience working with larger organisations and are comfortable managing longer B2B sales cycles.
There is also a leadership component. Alongside meeting individual revenue goals, the Key Account Manager will guide a team of sales executives and contribute to the wider corporate sales strategy.
The products you will be selling
The position covers two related areas.
Corporate gifting: This includes packages designed for employee milestones, onboarding, retirement, end-of-year gifting and client appreciation.
Corporate gifting software: The role also involves demonstrating a software platform designed to help organisations manage corporate gifting budgets and logistics.
Candidates should therefore be comfortable discussing both a tangible commercial product and a technology solution. Experience in SaaS sales will be particularly useful.
Who is likely to succeed?
The strongest candidate will probably be someone who enjoys the business-development side of sales and is comfortable taking the initiative.
You should be able to find potential clients without waiting for leads to arrive, communicate confidently with senior decision-makers and keep track of multiple opportunities throughout different stages of the sales process.
Because the role includes team leadership, experience coaching sales representatives or helping colleagues improve their performance will also be valuable.
How to apply
Interested and qualified candidates should apply through The People Practice’s recruitment platform
Before applying, make sure your CV clearly demonstrates your B2B sales achievements, particularly new-business generation, corporate account acquisition, revenue performance, SaaS sales, CRM usage and experience dealing with senior decision-makers.
Application deadline: October 9, 2026.
