Role Overview

The Project Driver will report to the Operations Specialist and provide safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for project staff, visitors, and official materials.

In addition to driving responsibilities, the successful candidate will ensure assigned vehicles remain roadworthy through routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and proper documentation. The role also supports field activities by assisting with logistics, meetings, and other operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Provide Safe Transportation Services

• Transport authorized staff, consultants, and visitors to official assignments.
• Deliver project documents, equipment, and other official materials safely and on time.
• Meet project personnel and visitors at designated locations when required.
• Follow approved travel procedures and organizational transportation policies.

Maintain Assigned Vehicles

Responsibilities include:

• Performing daily vehicle inspections before official trips.
• Keeping vehicles clean and in good operating condition.
• Arranging routine servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Monitoring tyre condition, brakes, engine oil, and other essential vehicle systems.
• Reporting mechanical faults promptly.
• Coordinating major repairs when necessary.

Maintain Vehicle Records

The Project Driver will:

• Keep accurate daily vehicle logs.
• Record fuel usage and maintenance activities.
• Maintain updated insurance documents and vehicle registration records.
• Ensure emergency supplies, spare tyres, first aid kits, and required equipment are available inside the vehicle.
• Assist with vehicle maintenance planning and reporting.

Qualifications

• A valid Nigerian Driver’s Licence (Class B or Class D).

Experience Requirements

Candidates should possess:

• At least three years of professional driving experience.
• Demonstrated experience driving safely within Lagos State and surrounding areas.
• Good knowledge of Nigerian road safety regulations.
