Territory and Channel Focus

The representative will work directly with businesses operating within MTN’s distribution network, including authorised distributors, sub-dealers and retailers.

The role requires regular movement between outlets in the assigned territory. Its purpose is to help maintain product availability, improve MTN’s visibility at retail locations and strengthen working relationships across the distribution channel.

The successful candidate will also collect information about sales conditions, network-quality issues and other factors affecting commercial performance within the assigned territory.

  • Contact sub-dealers and dealer branches to confirm stock receipts and product movement.
  • Explain MTN products, services and current promotions to personnel working at retail outlets.

  • Support trade events and promotional activities within the assigned territory.
  • Prepare post-promotion evaluations and relevant specifications for sub-dealer promotions.

  • Support the distribution of signage and point-of-sale materials.
  • Help maintain productive relationships between authorised distributors, sub-dealers and retailers.
  • Respond to questions concerning activations, products and promotions.
  • Collect useful market information and communicate findings to management.

  • Support full merchandising of identified outlets where applicable.
  • Provide product or promotion guidance to personnel at all outlets visited during the call cycle.
  • Support signage and point-of-sale distribution, with a target of 65% visibility across the distribution channel.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

Applicants should have:

  • A first degree, preferably in Social Sciences.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Between one and three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Previous experience working collaboratively with other people.
  • Experience gained within a medium-sized organisation.
  • Sales and marketing experience in a fast-moving consumer goods environment.

  • The number of retail outlets or business partners they previously managed or visited.
  • Territories, districts or sales routes they covered.
  • Improvements they helped achieve in product availability or retail visibility.
  • Experience resolving activation, stock, product or promotion-related problems.
