This position may suit someone with experience in programme coordination, education, NGO activities, project administration or community-based work who can keep several activities moving while maintaining accurate records and communication.

About KNOSK Charity Secondary School

KNOSK N100-A-Day Charity Secondary School was established to expand access to secondary education for children from low-income households, underserved communities and out-of-school children. Its work focuses on providing students with access to education and skills that can support their future opportunities.

The school is located in Kuje, Abuja, making this a particularly relevant opportunity for candidates who can work effectively within a school and community-based environment.

What you will be responsible for

The Program Officer will support the organisation across different stages of programme delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the planning and implementation of programmes, projects and school activities.
  • Coordinating programme schedules, logistics, activities and communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitoring programme progress and following up to ensure activities are completed according to agreed plans.
  • Maintaining accurate programme records, attendance information, reports and other documentation.
  • Supporting communication with beneficiaries, partners, facilitators, volunteers and other stakeholders.
  • Assisting with monitoring, evaluation and programme data collection.
  • Preparing programme updates, activity reports and other documents as required.
  • Helping organise workshops, training sessions, events, campaigns and other programme activities.
  • Identifying operational problems and suggesting practical ways to address them.
  • Ensuring programme activities are carried out in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Supporting budgeting, procurement and resource planning for programme activities when required.
  • Performing other duties related to programme delivery as assigned.

Qualifications and experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of OND or NCE. A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, Business Administration or a related discipline is an advantage.
  • Experience in programme coordination, project management, education, NGO work or a related environment.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong documentation, reporting and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and with limited supervision.
  • Experience working with young people, schools, NGOs or community-based programmes is an advantage.

Note: The original vacancy lists 2–6 years of experience in the job summary, while the detailed requirements mention at least 1–2 years. Applicants should therefore review their experience against the full vacancy requirements rather than relying on the summary field alone.

What makes someone a good fit?

This role requires more than simply keeping a schedule. The successful candidate should be comfortable coordinating people and activities, following up on tasks, documenting what has been done and identifying problems before they affect programme delivery.

Someone who has worked in a school, NGO, community programme or similar environment may already have useful experience dealing with different stakeholders and managing several responsibilities at once.

Strong writing and organisation skills will also be important because programme updates, attendance records, activity reports and other documentation form part of the role.
